Last.app is a B2B SaaS startup based in Barcelona. It exists to make restaurant life easier by unifying every tool a restaurateur needs into one piece of software: point of sale, delivery integration, online shop, bookings and more.
They were clear from the first call: they knew the kind of people they needed, and they were not finding them. They wanted genuinely strong engineers and were willing to pay for that level. Their frontend runs on Vue.js, but they were not looking exclusively for Vue experience, what mattered was finding very good developers, whatever they had worked with before.
The hybrid requirement was non-negotiable: three days a week in the office. They are a small technical team that values face-to-face time for culture and for getting through hard problems. From the first interview we had to confirm not just that candidates would accept that arrangement, but that they actually wanted it.
Before Kulturo they had interviewed plenty of people, and everyone was failing the technical test, which was eating the HR team's time. We agreed on an initial filter of five technical questions asked live, so that only candidates with a real chance reached them.
In a week and a half we presented five candidates with strong backgrounds, a genuine preference for hybrid work, and a fit with the culture. Three reached the final stage, two stood out in the on-site interview, and both were hired.
